Fishing for colors!
What you will Need:
- Colored construction paper
- Scissors
- Small paper clips
- A ruler or a shish kabob stick
- String
- A small magnet (a fridge magnet you can cut works great)
- Tape
- Twist tie (optional)
Cut out all different colored fish about 3 inches long. Then tape a small paper clip towards the end of the fishes mouth. Tie a piece of string to the end of the ruler or shish kabob stick (cut the sharp end of the stick off first) and tape or tie (depending of the shape of the magnet) the other end of the string to your magnet. You could also bend one end of a twist tie around your magnet and make a loop with the other end and tie your fishing pole string to the loop.
Lay your fish all over the floor and ask your child to catch certain colored fish. Or if your child is just starting out learning his/her colors, you can have your child catch the fish and teach them the color of each fish they catch.
This is also fun if you give them a bucket of bowl to put their catch in! :)
